The Do’s and Don’ts: Making your spa experience exceptional
The Do’s and Don’ts: Making your spa experience exceptional
Perhaps your mother told you time and time again in your youth not to put your elbows on the dinner table; or perhaps you had a grandmother who called you out on not putting your hand in front of your mouth every time you failed to stifle a yawn in her presence, these ladies knew their etiquette! Gone are the days when busloads of young girls congregated weekends in finishing schools, so where is a girl, or metrosexual man, to turn in search of etiquette advice?!
As far as spa etiquette is concerned, we here at Vusalela day spa are proud and privileged to offer you this list of spa etiquette dictated Do’s and Don’ts in an effort to maximize the pleasure of your spa experience with us!
Do:
Make your own decision about underwear and stick to it
Our masseuses and massage therapists are trained professionals and approach the body much as a medical practitioner would; clinically and without personal judgement. As such, it is advised, for your own comfort and for the benefit of the masseuse, that you remove your underwear for certain massages; it is certainly easier to massage a back without the hindrance of bra straps. That being said; do what makes you most comfortable; your relaxation and stress-free experience is of paramount importance to us! Our massage therapists are more than qualified to deliver an exceptional massage irrespective of your personal preference.
Indulge in all your package has to offer
Do arrive early for your spa treatment and make use of all the amenities your package and our facility has to offer! Take a dip in the pool, lounge in the hot tub or steam room and follow up your pre-treatment activities with a warm relaxing shower. Not only will you be more relaxed and prepared to fully enjoy your treatment; but you’ll smell fresh as a daisy and not need to be concerned about odour related embarrassments on the table.
Don’t:
Make use of your cellphone in the treatment area
The use of your cellphone or other electronic device is a massive faux pas within the context of the treatment room. Not only has research in the medical field shown us that cellular and other electronic devices negatively impact muscular resilience and muscular function, but the use of such devices in the treatment room diminishes your potential enjoyment of your own spa experience. Go unplugged for an hour and really make the most of your opportunity to relax and get in touch with your body.
Drink alcohol before your spa treatment
Not only will alcohol intoxication diminish your enjoyment of your spa treatment; it is ill-advised from a medical perspective. Due to the dehydrating effects of alcohol on the body and the releasing of tension and associated toxins through massage; undergoing a massage treatment under the influence is a recipe for a killer hangover and potential health complications. It is prescribed that a client consumes copious amounts of water before and after a massage treatment to aid in the swift flushing of toxins from the body.
